.They are all westerns, but that is a very broad term. Within that term, there are 4 subspecies that are in the United States.
Western banded gecko
--desert
--san diego
--tucson
--utah
The best thing to do if you don't know for sure is just to call them westerns.
Then again, there is the theory that there isn't any western banded gecko subspecies at all.
