Need advice on dragon illness!

I am helping someone out with a bearded dragon. She obtained a dragon with a missing leg not too long ago, and now the other leg looks as if it is wilting away. She has tried many veterinarians all specializing in reptiles--So please, no advice saying "take it to the vet". I really need to know if anyone has come in contact with this disease (or whatever it is) on their bearded dragons.

The vets say it may be genetic, or a bacterial infection in the blood stream. This dragon was given several types of antibotics. These medications worked for a very short time (for a week she saw improvement--nothing miraculous). It is not a bad stuck shed, and it is not a fungus.

I have a couple of photos for you all to see. If someone knows what this could be or how to treat it, please speak up. I am now speaking to this person about possibly having to amputate--but the problem is that this dragon is already missing a leg to begin with. So, we want some opinions...

I apologize in advance for the huge photos.

I had a similar problem with a uromastyx. After 300 dollars in surgery and medication I had to put him to sleep. A necropsy was done and some samples were sent off. It turned out her had multiple problems, but they could have been fixed with an antibiotic called metronidazol(sp). Your best bet would be to try some more medications, and hope for the best. Since she is already missing another leg, you probably cant remove it. Since it is affecting her limbs, there is a possiblity that there is an infection in the spinal cord.

Best Wishes,

Andrew
