One of my females likes to lay small eggs!!! The egg on the left is from another female, sorry Nathan 7-11 does't carry jelly bellies

I havn't hatched any out yet but they look like they be able to survive off mites :lol:
kidding aside, yes, they will probably get pinheads in the beginning.

yes they are both first year breeders, the female that layed the larger eggs that was her first clutch, the smaller eggs are the second clutch from the other

Seems like your laying substrate is really moist...do you care to comment on that? I used coco fiber as a lay substrate and had it too moist and lost two amyae eggs due to that... :roll: :| :?

I dont think its to moist the eggs have been good for the past couple of weeks and all my coleonyx eggs are still good and their lay substrate was kept the same. I have only had eggs dry out if kept in the cage to long.

@Hazpat: One of my O. castelnaui females also layed smaller eggs, the babies are a little smaller as the babies of other females, but when they are around 6 month there`s no difference anymore.

Is it the laying substrate or what he transfered them into (verm.) that you think is too moist?

I cant speak for other people, but me personally i cant get termites. I know people who can go outside and get a log infested with termites, but not me.

We use terrestrial or arboreal nests of non commercial species i.e grass eaters, not house eaters. We bring the whole nest home and store it in a bathtub, chopping enough off each time to shake out a qunatity of termites for that feed. I never considered that you might not have non-commercial species.

I dont kow of any commercial species but I do find large colonies all the time in the field I'm just to parinoid to purposely bring tirmites into the house. I have thaught about doing a termite farm or an ant farm, but it hasnt gone past the thaught stage yet.

I was talking about the actual substrate in the laybox, I was just looking how moist the pieces looked on the outside of the egg...thats all ;-)
