2 of them hatched

out of the two that hatched one of them look like it is trying to shed but it cant get the skin off any ideas on what i can do

Hi,

you speak about the first shed quick after the hatched ...?!

For that I usually put them in a little box (10*10*5 transparent) and on the floor I put a paper tower soacked with water, closing and waiting till they finished their first shed ...!
I do it with my Oeduras and today it worked out with my first cresty ...

yeah its there first shed i have them in a small critter keeper with a paper towel thats wet and a few other thing but ill try to put them in something theat has less ventilation it look like it tryed to shed already because i can see rolled up skin on its head

I guess next to Vit-probs are less humiditiy, but in this age it can mostly only be a question of having enough humiditiy ... So I would recommend: Hold him/her just in a very little tank with a high humidity ...

I guess the problem will disappear ....

When my last two hatched a couple weeks ago, one of the kids was having a hard time shedding the skin on its feet, tail and head... most likely due to low humidity at that time... so I was instructed to put them in a deli cup (like the ones they are often transported in) and add a warm, wet paper towel. This worked a miracle!! After leaving them in the cup for about half hour, I was able to easily remove the skin off the toes, tail and head with a damp Q-tip and a little more misting. I used some tiny tweezers also. It was time consuming... about an hour... but worth it.

I've read that bad sheds can cause circulation problems which lead to loss of toes and tails very easily.

I had today exactly the same problem!

I let one of my four fresh hatched crested babies not long enough in the shedding box I explained above ...

today I took him out of the cage and found that he didn't she half of the body :shock: !

I filled up a plate for soup (not a bowl!) with a bit warm water and lied him into and didn't let him out for a few seconds. After a short time all the old skin were hanging loosy around him while he was walking in the water and I could pulling softy and all came off, piece for piece ...

It was easier than I thought ...
