The difference??

First id like to say hello since im new to this forum ^_^ and that i have a satanic leaf tail and 2 mossy leaf tails..

anyways i was wondering how to tell the difference (besides size) between the mossy and Henkeli leaf tails... im having a problem finding anything that would help me to determine the differences between them

Thanks for any help you guys/girls can give me

The Henkeli get almost twise the size of the mossy, I guess the mossy is a Sikorae?
And yes the eyes are different plus you can see that the henkelis has a longer nose then the mossy.
The mossy is more compaqt :)
And then there is allso the coloration that's already been manshened here :)

If you compare the species you'll se some distinct fetures on them that are different :)

thanks both of you that did help a bit and i love the pics ^_^ ... it was just hard for me to tell since besides the size thing i didnt know what to look for in differences and it didnt help that most of the henkeli pics i would find on searches were pics of them with the white "shirts" as i call em and one of my mossies has a pattern like that.. and the eye difference helps a lot too thanks so much ^_^

galion do you breed your mossies? if so is it hard ive heard and read different stuff about it and was wondering what your thoughts on it were... im hopeing to one day find a male and breed them and find a pair of satanics to also breed. im not totally clueless on breeding geckos though just havent found much on the leaf tails

Sadley I don't have my Mossys anymore.
But I'm planing on geting a pair soon, I'm trying to fullfill my wish witch is to have atleast 4 or 5 different species of Uroplatus to breed.
I'v heard that the mossys can be abit picky with the egg laying, by that I meen everything has to be JUST perfect.
I never got my mossys to lay any eggs but the did mate a few times.
You should keep he mossys abit colder than you keep the Henkelis, and if you want them to mate you can try to make a dry period for about 2-3 months er something and then after that you make a rainy season for just as long that should trigger the matingseason klock for the mossys :) It did with mine anywayz!
I hope you get your hands on a male soon couse they are realy nice geckos to keep! :)

thanks again for the help and the pics ^_^ love them.. im definately gonna try to save up some $$ to get a male mossy, and satanic pair for breeding and look into other kinds of Uros too since theyre just so totally awesome

lol yeah i have both directors cut books for JTHM and Squee... stole em from my older sister long ago lol they are definately the best lol
