Well on the 21st my U. sikorae sameiti died and im not too sure why.. she was wormed and free of parasites and eating/drinking fine up untill like 2 days before she died. So i was kinda wondering if any of you had any ideas or know if when they get old and are ready to go do they basically up and die? it was just really unexpected since basically one day she was fine and the next her eyes were sunk in and she wouldnt take any food/water unless i forced her to(dont worry i do know how to force feed properly as not to hurt or asperate them). her tail didnt curl or anything either.. so yeah i dunno it was just really weird to me

thanks for any help and heres one of the last pictured i got of her

well, if that picture was taken within a reasonable proximity to the date of the death, i would say dehydration is to blame. sunken eyes are characteristic of this. you may also say that the tail was not curled, but according to the pic you provided, some level of dehydration was present. it doesnt look like theres too much meat on her bones either, so i would even go so far to speculate that it was a combination of dehydration and malnourishment that led to the death. you say the gecko was wormed and free of parasites...so i am guessing this means you had a fecal run by a vet? also, it would help if you were to explain your husbandry techniques.

the picture was taken at the begining of last month i think. i know the eye thing is a big sign of dehydration and i always kept and eye out for that. just before that picture i noticed that they were sunk in a little so i gave her a 10-15 min soak and sprayed her really well after that and she was fine after that. yes i had fecals run by the vet to be sure she didnt have parasites. and she was always on the thinner side compared to my other mossy... she ate 4-8 medium dusted crickets a night.

she was in a 29 gallon with drift wood corkbark and some hanging plants and a water dish and id mist her at least 2-3 times a day temps stayed about 74
