hi,i have two female leos that were introduced to a male about 3 weeks ago.today i found an egg in the tank, but i cant tell if it is good or not.it is white,it has a small indent on the top but nothing serious wrong.could anybody post some pics of good eggs and bad eggs,so i can compare and at what point would it be a good idea to candle it?as far as growth i doubt i would see anything on the first day...

Are the females still in with the male? Did you see them mate at all? The egg needs to be put into an incubator so if it is fertile it can start to grow then it can be candled. It can be a good egg even with an indentation. If there is just one egg then its probably her first time laying and it may not be fertile. if incubated in the low 80's it will be a female in the high 80's it will be a male. So im told.

no the male has been taken out,and yes i saw them mate.the female has layed before and the dent has popped out.at the moment the egg feels slightly "delicate"so im not going to try and candle it just yet.but from the small light from my penlight i did see some signs of fertility at the top...so9 i guess ill have to wait and see

The golden rule with eggs is...always incubate them. If it's no good, you'll find out soon enough and no big loss. But if it is good, you'll be glad you incubated it. I've had eggs that I thought for sure were never going to hatch out end up producing wonderful healthy babies.
