I got this new cage and am trying to figure out a way to keep crickets in from slipping out from where the doors overlap there is a small space does anyone have any idea where I could get some sort of filler or add on stip of rubber or something that will just stick to one of the sliding doors and cap off the space between the two.

Try using the flat weather striping from homedepot. Its used on doors all the time and I used to use it on vision cages to prevent crickets from escaping through the crack between the doors..

You can get it in a BUNCH of different thickness's too!! And it works like a charm! :)

Thanks Erik

I would agree with Erik on this one.... something else you might want to try is an adhesive rubber door sweep ( usually sticks to the bottom of a door to keep drafts etc out). You can find thin ones of these that are flexible and have a pre-shaped angle to them so they keep things out but create little drag.

just picked up some flat weather striping. The only thing I am worried about it how sticky it is. I threw it on and slid the door across and it would just roll right off. I am going to give it some time to dry and then see what happens if worse comes to worse I can silicone it on or something.

Foam weather stripping that is used in display cabinets is your best option. try michaels to find it. One side is lightly sticky and the other is soft to the touch. It has been recommended to me by breeders of sphaerodactylus.

If it does not do the job well, give me a call and I have replacement tracking that is much thinner than the commercially available stuff. The gap between mine is roughly 1/8 rther than the typical 3/16-1/4.
