What would be the result of breeding a Western form marmarota to and Eastern form marmarota?? I'm just curious since I have a female eastern, and I'll be getting some western's soon. Thanks...

Mixing different local forms of animals shouldn`t be herpers goal, we should keep all local forms clean. Finding a male eastern mamorata must be a peace of cake.
If you cross those local forms, feet the offspring to their parents - don`t let them on the market.

yeah, I was just kinda curious if anyone out there had experimented with this. I am looking for a male eastern, no rush as my female is still young, but what's the ideal weight/age for females to be reproductive??

I`ve never weighed my geckos. You should wait till an age of 18 month by females before mating. They reached sexual maturity within 12 month, but they still in the process of growth and it`s not clever to breed them to young.

Henkel and Schmidt wrote that crossing in some Oedura species is possible (Marmorata / Monilis) so I guess you are able to cross a western with a eastern marmorata.

I'm curious what the best way to sex these geckos is? Look for the bulges(hemipenes)? Do pores play any role here?

Prob pores. Don't mix the localities please. Keep it local specific. I am sure you can find a male/female available.

I want some nice marmorata if anyone has them.
