Mixing Day geckos + Ground dwelling lizards?

I just set-up a big aquarium for my day geckos, full of plants, branches, hiding place, etc.
The terrarium size is: 30" x 13" x 25".

I will have an adult pair of P. standingi in there, and I wanted to add a ground dwelling lizards because there are lots of loose (small) roaches & crickets that's just hiding in the ground.
I'm hoping the lizard will eat the bugs so it won't overpopulate the ground.

Now I'm thinking of Fire Skink, or Red Eye Croc Skink, or Pink Tongue Skink...
Any recommendations?

Thanks.

Well the PTS probably won't take a real bite out of the bugs. The Tribs will need some sort of water modicifations as well.

Depends on how warm those day geckos like it.

African fat tails work well. I had a buddy who kept them with grandis and it worked out great for them. I recently kept juvie AFTs and juvie cresteds together w/ no problems. Right now my standingi and AFTs are together, I figured it would work out better than the AFT/grandis combo b/c they have similar humidity/temp requirements.
Make sure they have about the same head size and that the tank is plenty tall. Also, never ever mixed CB with WC, especially if they're different species.

Try Zonosaurs

Also known as Malagasy plated lizards many species come from the same areas as Standingii and can be ideally situated for ground clean up duty. Madagascarensis are the species I currently keep with mine. They are similar in size to Standingii, not agressive, extremely curious and always hungry. Perfect for what you are looking for.

Hey I was curious if maybe you could mix grandis or standingi with pictus/panther geckos. All are from Madagascar as far as I know, I think pictus require less humidity than grandis which might be just right for standingi...

Its possible, when mixing species pick ones that are similar in size and occupy diffrent spaces within the cage, and come from similar environments. Have neve kept Pictus with day geckos although in the past I have had luck maintaining androyensis which are smaller paroeduras with smaller day geckos. Make sure there is not a huge size disparity and provide plenty of hides. Other then that observe the animals and adjust accordingly. Best advice I recieved is watch the animals. They will tell you if the set up is working or not. Best of luck.
