Need some help!

My grandis female just lost her tail . I guess she became stressed.

This is how it happend, i buyed a bulb for my grandis female today and i wanted to see how hot it would be under the bulb so i placed my thermometer under i.

Then i guess she went curious so she jumped to it and it fell to the ground, she did allso land on the ground but was'nt trapped under the thermometer.

She moust have thought that it was a predator and she was going to be eaten?

So my question is: i know that the tail will regrow but do i have to do any thing with the female?
or will it just take care of it self?
is it going to be an infection?

sorry to hear about your grandis. did it hurt any other part of its body?

its tail will grow back. some people put a cream on it but i dont know what you could buy over seas that would work. but in nature it would have to grow back on its own. so there for i would let it be and see if it starts to look infected. if it starts to look bad then take it to the vet.

if you are real worried about it getting it infected try taking the substrate out and put in paper towels.

Also, just so you're aware, the tail will probably not be the same once it grows back. By that I mean, it may be thicker, less colorfull, and less "bendy." I once had a male White Lined Gecko whose tail had fallen off (before I got him) for whatever reason, and when it grew back, it was as I have described above.

Hi ok she did'nt recive any damage on the rest of her body i do just think that she became stressed so she dropped her tail.

Well i dont know of any cream that i could put on the tail but i will just let it be and look if the tail will regrow back normally again.

Yeah i've heard that the tail not be as beautiful as the original. And It's really boring that she dropped the tail because she is a highred grandis.

I'm sorry to hear about your girl. Her tail will more than likely grow back with no problems and shouldn't cause her any trouble. It may be noticeable as you can see from the photo of Gaz, our Male. He was like this when we bought him but he can bend it and use it just as he would his normal tail.

I'd say that was doubtful, although not impossible. Markings on other animals are normally predetermined whilst in the embryo stage - as this is fresh growth, the colour markers in the genes may not be the same.

I'm not totally sure of how regenerated colourations work as that doesn't normally happen with mammals!

With my experience depending on how far the tail breaks up decides usually how the tail will look. I have an adult female grandis that lost her tail by stupid handling of forceps and her tail fell off. It’s been a few months and if you look at her tail you would never notice it fell off. The tail is just as bendy, same coloration, same thickness. Only if you look real close you can see a line. I also have a klemmeri female that lost her tail fairly high up, and that has grown back all the way and its still colorful, and normal thickness, but it is very stiff like a club. and you can notice it more. As far as infections go, I’ve had a gecko tail break off where there was a small amount of blood and there wasn't an infection. These geckos have to deal with losing their tail in the wild, and they don’t have doctors, so with that your gecko will heal its body up fine.

I had a pair of grandis and my male lost his tail, Now keep in mind this was a big adult. The color at the base of the tail remained but was very faint. The shape of the tail was almost perfect though. And as for liquid skin, " the cream they try to sell you" stay away from that stuff. It can actually retard the growth of the tail, also with a "cream" on the tail you have more chance of the debris in the cage sticking to it causing a higher risk of infection or deformity....
