Petco rescues

All of the temperatures are set by a computer in the manager office. You cannot select the temperature. You select the species inside of the enclosure. Whatever corporate determines them to be at is the temperature they are set at, as well as cage substrate, furniture, food, etc. Everything is preset. If the temps were that high, someone probably had the wrong species set in the computer for that enclosure.

In the new petcos, that is correct about the temperature settings. But there are petcos here that have simply unscrewed heat lights to cool down the cages based upon my request:) And then later screwed it back in when I left, so the employees who knew these were cresties did it.
Anyway, this is off topic. We can start a new forum to praise petco. My intent wasn't even to out them :) until someone else brought it up.

BethMarie I do agree that the temps need to change in some, I played around with some of them making them different "species" in there to cool or warm the specific species to the correct temperature. Anyway, you're cresteds look great and very healthy, and I'm sure they are in better hands with you then in any pet store, no matter how good or bad the pet store is. Enjoy them!!
