I want to get started...

It all depends on how much your willing to spend. You could get away with 200 including the animals. Or you could spend as much as 3-400 with cage and animals. Just depends on what animals your wanting to get and how much your willing to spend.

I want to have a decent setup--one that is appropriate for two day geckos. I don't want to go all-out because I don't have a lot of money--but I do want to make sure their home is acceptable and welcoming to the geckos. So do you think $300-350, (geckos included), would be enough? And how much does the average day gecko cost?

I would say you really need to look into what kind of day gecko you want first. Find out what they cost and then figure out what kind of setup you need.

I don't know a website or pet store that sells day geckos. How much do gold dust day geckos cost? I'm not too sure what kind of day gecko I want, I would like one that doesn't cost a lot--are gold dust day geckos expensive?

gold dust are not expensive geckos. phelsuma range from around $20-300. dubia are one of the cheapest and easiest to care for. but like cliff said you need to decide what species you want and try and find that one. dont get a gold dust cause that is the one that you found the fastest. i wouls say setup a tank first get it right with the temps and humidity where they need to be. then start looking for a gecko.

if you post you are looking for a gecko here in the wanting to buy section i am sure that someone will help you along with that. but there are several different websites you can try.
kingsnake.com - the information portal for reptile and amphibian hobbyists.
Reptile Supplies and Exotic Animals
Reptile Depot
try those three and if you dont find what you are looking for then post here on this site.

I would not recommend Reptile Depot. If you do a search on the BOI on Fauna you'll see some of the crap they pull. They may have good prices but they do not care about customers or screwing people over. Here, LLLreptile, Kingsnake are all great places to buy animals. Here your buying from the breeder most of the time and most will help you out with almost anything. Good luck with it all.
