Amyae stopped feeding.....hmmm

YO, Fellow geckoheads

I have a female Amyae who stoped feeding for about a week + ago and seams restless. She is often out of her hiding potts in day time.
This could be symtoms of comming egglaing from what I have learned from levis and wheeleri. But should this go on for so long?
No digging have occured so far.
Should i start forcefeeding her if she does not start to feed soon?
I can not see if she is carrying any eggs but she is not thin.

Anyway.
One week ago I got 3 eggs from one female levis, is that cool or what?

I've had this happen...one of the females I had was eggbound and the other needed a B-Complex shot to kind of snap her out of it. I don't know what could be the problem, what temps is she at? Could it be impaction?

She is about 27C on the cool side and 32C at the hot.
I do no knowe what impaction is......have to look it up.

Is there something in her cage (pinhead crickets, for example?) or in the room that may be stressing her out?

I would give her another hide box that she may like better. I would also make sure there is some slightly damp sand she can dig in just in case she is gravid. Sometimes female Nephrurus will develop eggs without being with a male. Of course they will be infertile but sometimes they hang onto them for longer than you would like. I had this happen once with an amyae.

I would also make sure she has enough water to make sure she doesn't get dehydrated. I would not force feed her. If there is nothing stressing your gecko out, she can go a long time without eating. Force feeding will most likely stress her out further. I would leave that as a last resort.

That's amazing about the 3 egg clutch with your levis. I've never seen that.

Hello again!
Thank you for your support.

I have been at the vet, Dr Krall in Malmoe/Sweden. He was convinsed that she carried eggs. By pressing her back they where obvious.
She was given a B-complex shot in the leg and now I just have to wait for the eggs to come out.
If she gets weak I have a plan B,,,,,,,occitycin, I have used it on chmaleons for years and hope it works on geckos.

The B-vitamin has nothing to do with the eggs comming out. B-vitamin complex is a boost for reptiles (and humas) to get back on track so to say.

Occitycin is a female hormone and is given to reptiles (and humas) to start or/and boost the laybur of giving birth.

I have heard that the female hormone oxytocin will not help in most gecko species and also that it may have bad effects instead of good. I would suggest that the best thing to do is give her one additional hide on the cool end of the enclosure that is quite large and fill it almost completely with moistened sand and then leave her be for 24 to 48 hours and see if she doesnt pass those eggs in that. They seem to really do well when given a hide (artificial rock cave) filled like this and then left be to lay the eggs. I dont even go in the room that my amyae are in when I know that one of the females has went though a pre-lay shed and is ready to lay eggs.

I was wondering did she recently shed?? I have yet to see a female amyae lay eggs without first shedding her skin (infertile or not). I can also always see the eggs in my amyae when they are fully formed. Just wondering if this may not be the issue??

Thanks a lot clarksgeckos !

I just made an extra hide with humid sand where she can have some privacy.
This seams to be an very nervous and jumpy spices. And thy might do better in a bigg terrarium than in my racks.

About the oxitycin; this is bad news,,,,,,, but I have no resason to doubt you, never tried with geckos.

Now I have to wait and see.........
