Hi everyone..
After waiting patiently for my quads to breed, I found an EGG yesterday!!

Only one egg laid inside a hollow tree branch.. Too bad I couldn't reach the egg to incubate it.. But it seems good, and hopefully will hatch...
It is the First time too for the female..

Anybody here have extensive experience with breeding quads?
My question is, is it better to separate the pair after the breeding season is over?

and for now I keep my 1.1 quad in a 20gal tall aquarium. Is it better to add one more female to this group?
I've read some quads will breed better if you have more than one female to a male.

Thanks!

i have bred quadriocellata ssp.

just keep them as the way they are now.
don't add more females. aggression will take part.

don't separate them.

by the way. very good looking male you have there.
i assume he is Wildcaught?

i need one too that is as bright as yours!

Just wanted to say you had some nice looking Quads. You should have a pretty good year breeding them. I just picked up a pair of them over the weekend, and I am looking foward to seeing some eggs.

Hey the quads look great. I really regret giving that male up haha. Once you have some more eggs cooking, pu me on the lsit for babies.

Thanks everyone!

Yes Jeroen, the male is WC, he has nice amount of Reds on his back, also Blue on his head.
The young female is CB.
But the weird thing is the wc male seems very "tame" to people. The female just freaking out all the time, always run and hide..

If I put my hand inside the enclosure, the male will approach my hand slowly..
Then he usually gets On my hand, he will just walk around calmly, and go back to the enclosure... He's just one curious gecko!
Very fun to have :D

Michael, did you train this male? hehe

dfreeman, yes that's a shallow pool at the bottom of the viv.
I just made the substrate on the sides much higher, so when I fill it with water, the lowest mid area is becoming a pool.
Pm me if you have more questions about building a terrarium.

I don't use any pump for this one, but the water is pretty clear. You just need to choose the right substrate.
My other vivarium have brown water because of the substrate.

and I just build another vivarium; I use a pump for this one to make a small waterfall. I'll post some pics later in the Naturalistic Vivarium section.
