New Caledonian plants?

Greetings,
I'm currently doing a project work about crested geckos, and a part of this project is to set up a cage using plants native to their natural habitat.. Now, the problem is, there seems to be no listing of the diffrent species of plants anywhere on the web, which I've seen for other islands, such as Madagascar.

If anyone would point me to a website regarding New Caledonian flora/ plants or webshop or company that deals with these species, I'd very much apprechiate it. =)

Oh, and I didn't know if this was the right place for this topic, hope it is!

Ya know...thats a hard one. I'll look into it and get back to you if I find anything. I have a few books that may turn something up.

Thank you, I've had one reply quoting "Crested Geckos" by Adam Black on another board, but more species would be great!

Hi Robert,

I do know some New Caledonian orchids and verns. Remind me to look the names up for you. In Aaron Bauer (et al) his papers some vegetation types are also mentioned. If you have it look at page 14-15-16-17 of "The Herpetofauna of New Caledonia" (Bauer and Sadlier).

Today I purchased 2 species from New Caledonia, Asplenium nidus and Blechnum gibbum. It's rather odd how you go everywhere looking for plants without finding them, then find them on the corner of the train station you pass every day. :)

I also saw a third species in there, but it happens to be very common and I'll buy it for a cheaper price.. Epipremnum pinnatum.

Again, if anyone can name more New Caledonian species, the help is very much appreachiated!

I'm sorry to say I don't have that book, Tariq. However, I managed to find the book up to page 14 on Amazon, but it did not name any specific species.

A little late for a response but I found this site on New Caledonia and its flora and animals, New Caledonia

I've just finished the background of my terrarium last night, all that remains is planting. :)

Thank you, I'm pretty much done with the construction of the terrarium and the paper i wrote was handed in to the teacher today. I will try to get a couple of pictures up here today or tomorrow!
