Yes, more uroplatus pictures. Anyone bored of these geckos yet?

The best way to tell if your U. sikorae is a U. sikorae sikorae or U. sikorae sameti is to see if the mouth is pink or black. Black being sikorae, and pink being sameti, or so I'm told.

I wanted to see what mine were so I brought out the spray bottle. This was the safest way I could think of, and one that wouldn't bring a lot of stress to them.

Neet pics! ive heard the same as you so i believe your correct but im not sure. the only uroplatus ive worked with so far are phantasticus and ebenaui.

I love the white looking one. I heard it was something with the eyes but I dont remember who told me.

There is often times more yellow around the eye of a sameiti, however, this is not the surest way to tell. The surest way is as Kevin said, the inside of the mouth. There is no mistaking that pitch black throat verse a flesh one!!!

what you see there is not the proper portion of the mouth. you need to see more deeply inside in order to see the color difference. it will be on the roof of the back of the mouth. you're not going to get to see it unless you handle them and get them to defensively open their mouths. licking water simply wont open the mouth enough to see what you need to.

i would bet on them being sikorae sikorae from outward appearance.

I won't bother having them open their mouths nice and wide, I just don't care enough to do that to em. haha.

I got ahold of of the breeder of the juvi sikorae and he believed him to be sikorae sikorae.

i agree miguel, however, i would bet that second one is sikorae!
you can see the shadow of black on the gum lines back in her mouth and in the sikorae sameiti there is NOTHING black in the throat.
the other two most likely sikorae due to the simple fact sameiti are a bit more rare, but, i duno.
either way, loveee them!

Yeah, I don't really care what species they are! Sall good.

I do have an adult pair together, guess it would be best to find out for sure what species they are.
