mood, at least thats what i assume.... :???: i think more behavioral research should be done on why exactly they "fire up" ......i use to think it was because of stress, but now that i see other peoples geckos and how they talk about them "fireing up" all the time, i wonder... maybe not stress, but just mood? i know being in captivity (no matter how great of an environment you make for them) must be somewhat stressful....? maybe after a shed? or maybe even due to breeding reasons? hmmm yes more reseach is needed! any more experienced breeders want to add their thoughts?
According to wikipedia the "firing up" of a crested is due to mood/excitement. This can be anything from breeding, habitat, stress or just plain mood. So basically...they haven't figured it out yet.
