Hi,
Can anybody explain/show me how to recognize growing follicles throght the skin, because i can't see them on my females? How to measure them?

I've found an article about changes in a females behavior in a diffrent periods of a vitellogenesis. There is one information which is very interesting for me, authors ascribe the biggest receptivity to a male to a late vitellogenesis, when follicles measure 12-14 mm. It's very useful information, by using this method you can exactly know when to put male in a female cage.

Follicles on the leopard gecko are in the upper abdomen and look like 2 pencil erasers seen head on from the top in terms of color and size. I have some heavier geckos where I can't see follicles because I assume there is a layer of fat on the belly making them less translucent. For best results, bend the gecko slightly backwards so what's inside pushes against the abdominal wall.
