Love these 'non-leaftailed' leaftails, have you had any success in breeding them, or are you not at this stage yet?

Hey Oli,

Still not at the breeding stage yet, going to try my hand at them next year. Still have some growing to do, but hopefully all will go well, I have 3.2

Got some more eggs from my platurus this year though so everything is going ok so far,

Thanks Derek

3.2 nice! that's a nice little group you'll be looking to expand then for next season very cool. I would be excited, sounds like your platurus are doing good, speaking of platurus I need to get some females for my guys(somehow I always seem to luck out when buying unsexed juveniles ;) )

Hello Derek, great pics of a rare species.

A few days ago i got a good clutch of eggs from my pair, the female was carring the eggs for about 2,5 months until she laid, but the look very good and i keep my fingers crossed for a good and healthy offspring later this year.

regards stefan

Stefan, thats awesome :D Yeah I notice the platerus carry the first clutch for about 1.5-2 months before laying then the next clutch is laid exactly 1 month later. Have you hatched the caud's before? How big were your animals before you bred them? Did you bring about breeding the same as you would with a platurus? Or any other tips would be great :)

John- Yeah I am really happy, would never of though I would be able to work with these guys, but Jerry is the man!! Though looking to trade out one of the males for another bloodline as 2 of the males are the same bloodline. Though don't know anyone around (in the US) who has an unrelated male....

Congrats on the pair of platurus, they are still one of my favorites, they would be all I kept if I could find more :)

Hi derek

very nice leafies :) nice to see they are in overseas collections and not even in ours lol one day they will come into the system.

depending on which population all the caudiannulatus came from over in aus to begin with you may have Phyllurus kabikabi which is the oakview population that was formerly known as p caudiannulatus the only way to tell them apart is by the prickle like spines on the back of their back legs and the size of the prickles all over them.

lol goodluck to everyone trying to figure out if they have pure animals anymor
