So, while surfing on craigslist the other day i see where someone has rescued a male leopard gecko. Just a normal gecko. No special morph.. just a regular lil boy - they said it was a male and couldnt be housed with their other male so they didnt have room for him any longer - he had been through alot and needed special care... I had no idea....
some parent thought it would be okay to buy their 5 year old a leopard gecko.. scratch that TWO leopard geckos... :-x this might be fine and dandy if mom and dad tend to him and supervise the handling of the small lil creature..now I know some of you just breed your animals and dont become "emotionally attached to them"... but I am not a breeder I have 15 geckos now and handle every one of them every day. I give them special attention daily and have become very attached to every one of them.. I even worry when they dont eat as many crickets today as they did yesterday... that's why I am posting this today.. I'm so furious.. Im livid.. these DAMN FOOLS let the 5 year old CHEW OFF BOTH OF THEIR TAILS... and never gave them a moist warm hide or calcium... they let the shed stay on his lil feet until they fell off... HIS FEET people.. they sat back and witnessed them losing their tails and feet due to the mis handling from the child and lack of proper habitat... I sit here squalling right now as I type this.. I want to stand out side of every petstore that sales geckos and slap the *bleep* out of every foolish parent falling pray to the whining and moaning of a spoiled rotten child...and buys any reptile but especially one so docile so sweet so loving as a poor little leopard.... Just because you can procreate does not mean you are a Mother or a Father.. with today being mothers day and fathers day approaching... I feel the need to remind any foolish person of that fact.......some people just have no BLEEPING clue of how to give it a proper home and if you cant care for an animal you surely shouldnt be allowed to procreate!....
Too bad no one that really needs to read that will read it because only responsible owners take the time to read up on how to care for them properly thus leading me to venting to you fine people instead of smacking some sense into idiotic BAD PARENTS!
I've attached some photos of my new "bubble butt twins" and should the precious lil babes ever get over the stress of their lives and provide me with little baby geckos I guess they'll just be "het for stump tails and no toes".... I'll love them just the same (and yes I know that's not hereditary, I was just kidding)....
If they make it a week it's worth it, because they will have had a week of true love and good care... that's more than they've apparently ever had....
