Summer heat issues...

I have not built my system as of yet. Like I stated in the first post, this plan will need some tweaking; however, it should work. How well it should work will depend on your ability to problem solve. What I like about this is that you can adjust the temp of the water buy adding ice to the cooler if needed. You can also add as many cages as your cooler and pump can handle. I do not think that this will take temps in the 100’s* down to 70*, but it should drop the temps in the cages down to a lower level. If you have some spare aquarium parts around this would be very cheap to try.

The set up is a lot like that of a reservoir for a fish tank. The cooler will contain the water. There will be 1 inlet and 1 outlet to attach the tubing to. You will need plenty of tubing to do this. The amount of tubing depends on the size of and the number of radiators needed. You will then need a water pump of some sorts; it does not need to be fancy by any means since your animals will not come in contact with the water flowing through the system. I would then attach the tubing to the egg crate paneling, this is the material used for florescent lighting. When attaching the tubing, make sure not to pinch it because you want the water to flow freely through. Reflectix insulation will most likely be needed to direct the cooler air down.
