Shedding

Hi all my little one is shedding for the first time.. well with me as it's owner at least.. I'm curious if there is anything I can do to help it out some. I've misted the little hut it's been hanging it. I think it's trying to rub on the side of the log to pull the skin off. It should be able to do it's thing right?

I think that as long as he/she has a moist hide, it should be okay. I noticed last night that one of my leos was shedding. I just remoistened his moist hide (I use a CD spindle with paper towels in the bottom) and I saw that he went in there and rubbed on the sides to get some water on him. When he came out, most of the shed was gone. He then went into a dry hide to finish off a bit of skin left on his little chin.

Hmmm is the process supposed to be fast? My guy has been at it for a while and doesn't have all of it off yet.

It got it all off. The little one just wanted to stay by the log. The bark was somewhat moist and I sprayed some water on the glass too because it seemed to be rubbing on the glass and that must have helped it some. I put a cd spindle hidebox in there as well but it never seemed interested in it.

There is a picture after it was done.

Aww, I'm so glad that he/she got it all off! :) I know I was worried about mine, too, when I saw his first shed (with me) starting. Smart thinkin to spray water on the glass! That's a bummer that your baby wasn't interested in the spindle, though. I'm sure you'll eventually find a moist escape for him/her that works! Good luck, and yours sure is a cutie! ;-)

Yes I'm glad it's over. It looked kinda silly with the skin like that ha ha but thank you very much for your nice comments and advice.
