Empty eggs?

Is it true that geckos can lay eggs without being pregnant? I can't remember where I heard it but its been bugging me because my little Leeloo has been getting a bit fat lately and her tummy looks a bit like the photos some people have put on here of their pregnant geckos. I'll try and get a photo later, just wanna know what people think? :roll:

Yes, they can become gravid without having been with a male. These eggs obviously would not be fertile though.

lol yeah obviously, just wondering if thats the reason for her fatness haven't been feeding her anything different to the others, hhhm.

unless you have a species that is capable of parthenogenesis the eggs will not be any good.

just like chickens they can lay eggs without being with a male.
