I`m guessing the straws are there for keeping the eggs at their place, not?
I have found a pair off eggs as well of fimbriatus, nice and white. 1.5-2cm diameter.
Pitbullgeckos, how are your eggs through the development? in size, weight appaerance etc...

Thanks
The straws are for keeping the eggs in place.
The eggs keep the size and wight through out the hatching.
Very important; We hatch them at about 26.5-27 C, at lower temps the hatchling die in the egg, at higher temps we get some deformed babies, like crooked backs. A slight night cooling is very beneficial.
Tips; If you ever have the chance go to Nosy Mangabe and Masoala to see them live this is very good for understanding fx how high temps they expirience during the day. Do not mistake the fimbs for high elevation spices!
Last season we hatched out 23 babies and 3 so far this season (long waiting list).

Fimbriatus can be quite productive, but my females of U.fimbriatus throw after 2 years the tails off and then went off it steeply. Death.

Be permanently careful and always pay attention to sufficient mineral material and vitamin supply, further regeneration time for the females. Those are my experiences and a well meant advice!

This is not our expirience. My oldest female I had for 7 years and she is still fertil. We have sevaral groups and a good season a female lays maby 10 fertile eggs.
About minerals; Hard-shell snails is the sollution for us. At the beggining of the season the females eat lots of them and you can see the calcium-sacks fills up.
Those are our experiences and a well meant advice

Kind Regards

Nice that it runs for you better! I did not know the age of my animals, when I imported them. Perhaps they were already very old.
If I reflect the attitude conditions of my keeping, the night-time heating reduction was possibly additionally not sufficient.

Seven years are genuinly great!
Greetings!

I have had my pair of fimbriatus for a few months now and found that the female has been digging for the last 3 nights. Do your bury their eggs?

Will it work with aquarium snails??? Or should it be Helix promatia or some other kind of snails you can find in your garden? Where do you find snails when it's winter Björn?
