Cannibal Crickets? or Shed Skins?

I have noticed that there are alot of cricket "shells" inside of my cricket container? I do not know if crickets shed their skins or if they are dying and the others are eating the bodies. They have plenty of food and all I am finding are empty shells with nothing inside. Are they sheding their skins as they grow or eating the dead ones? I just would like to know.

I don't know if your crickets are mature or not but often mature crickets fight and kill each other. I feed mine tons but theres still always casualties. Shed skins will be softer and more crinkly and light (because they're empty). Dead crickets are hard, darker and heavier. It's pretty easy to tell the difference.

In my experience, the crickets, even though you may feed them, will eat each other, I have seen it myself numerous times. They do shed their "skin" as well. After crickets shed they are very soft and white, kind of neat sight if you see it. I used to buy my crickets in 10 dozen intervals, but I have recently went to 5 dozen at a time for feeding my 2 leos, they keep longer, they don't kill each other by being too congested in a container, and it is alot easier to clean out the cricket tote. Hope that helps you.

it could be either one. crickets are cannibalistic so they could be eating each other because of over crouding, or they could be shedng they're exoskeleton aswell. it could be either one. try providing more space and see if you still see those bodies.
