Hi my name is nathaniel and I'm new to this site only have been a member for a couple of days. I want everybodys opionions. I'm thinking of getting a d.galeatus or d.vittatus. Then I looked at the oedura family and got hooked to both. Then I looked at the millis and I dont know which one I should get. Can anyone give me some caresheets maybe for each that way I can compare them. Ty for anyone that gives me info. P.s. this is my first gecko.

Aussie gecko break down in terms of best first gecko, prices included:
U. milii $150-200
O. castelnaui $50-75
O. monilis $40-50
S. williamsi $125
D. vittatus $150

I'd recommend against the strophurus and diplodactylus for a first timer, both have a very small adult size.

Nathaniel, I agree with Kevin as the diplodactylus look bigger than they really are in person! Oedura castelnaui are easy captives, and would be an excellent choice as a first gecko, even though a nephrurus wheeleri would be an excellent starter too! The williamsi, and mostly all diplodactylus are tiny geckos, you can always call me again to discuss the positives/negatives of their care in captivity ;)

Agreeing with oli, and myself, castelnaui are your best bet for a semi arboreal gecko. If you want something more terrestrial, try the milii, it all just depends on how you want your viv positioned, horizontal or vertical. If You are looking for castelnaui, I will have some availble very shortly. They are my favorite entry level gecko, right after R. ciliatus.
