Just curious as to why all the Lygodactylus posts in the south african gecko area? There are most certainly lygodactylus in southern africa but with the exception of capensis, none have been seen on these forums. maybe i stand to be corrected but is tanzania and kenya now considered southern africa? Matter of fact moderators....why not add the lygodactylus to the phelsuma forum? They are very closely related and diurnal...

just my two cents...

I agree. Phelsumas are so close in many ways to Lygodactylus that they should naturally belong to this area. Perhaps the Phelsuma keepers will also find Lygodactylus an interesting genus in case they aren't actively reading the Southern Africa section.

...and don't forget Madagascar, a large proportion of lygodactylus hail from there.
Perhaps we're seeking a new category; Day geckos, subcategorised into phelsuma, lygodactylus, naultinus, sphaerodactylus.

I know I tend to jump back and forth between 'South African geckos', and 'other geckos' forums when checking up on lygodactylus.

Your idea is exactly in line with what I think. How are we doing to organize this?

You can put it together with phelsuma or even a seperate topic in gecko spotlight
i've got a feeling lygodactylus species will only grow in popularity.

I think so to. It is a very interesting group of geckos to keep.

With more successful breeding, the interest in these gecko will increase.
