Hey,
Well back in late May, early June I went back up to Newfoundland (we go about every year) just to see relatives (sure wasn't a herping trip as there are no herps on the island) but there is a lot of incredible wildlife. Newfoundland is basically the East Coast Alaska
Love kayaking/Scuba diving with the Humpback whales, as they are up that way for breeding (then they head back down south for birth). We stayed in St. Johns (the capital) as other than that, it is a pretty desolate island. Just thought I would share some of the scenery, city, etc.
Harbor looking out from St. Johns:
St. Johns Harbor
Houses along the harbor:
These are from Signal Hill Hike, Signal Hill (Cabot Tower) is where the first telegraph was sent across the Atlantic:
Cape Spear (the most easternly point in North America) is just out of view, but its on the far laft of the land in the foreground:
Cabot Tower:
Coastline:
St. Johns from Signal Hill (St. Johns is also known as the foggiest place in Canada
)
Playing with Shutter speed, thought it was cool:
Returning from Whale Watching:
Random Shots:
Attack Swan lol:
Enjoy,
Derek
