had a klem hatch yesterday and escape the exoterra viv. I left the eggs to hatch in the adult viv. I found the baby but im looking for advice on keeping it. At the moment its in a cricket tub with a simpler set up than the adults.
I would have thought that they would have come out with the yellow head but this one is simply brown with spots on the side

klemmeri

I have had problems before with vivariums with doors, the young can escape through the smallest openings. This year I have used large pickling jars wih netting on the top.It seems to be working so far.

Sure you've found the right hatchling?...Unless the hatchling hasn't shed its first skin (usually within hours of hatching), the babies are ident in colouring to the adults (or perhaps a little brighter). I keep my hatchlings in upright cylindrical tubes (4" dia, 14" tall) with a meshed area in front for misting/UV penetration. Substrate is 2" hydroleca, covered with a 1-2" layer of vermiculite. Basking/hiding area is an 8" tube of bamboo. I also put a 'crab-pot' arrangement at the top so that I can open the top to put pinheads in without the gecko being able to run out. The proper top only has to come off when I change the fruit dish. Mist daily, give them fruit a couple of times a week and pinhead crickets 2 or 3 times a week

could you post a pic of what your set-up looks like for hatchlings I have been wanting to try something a little different with some of my small Phelsuma
