Do you find male p.b.borbonica particularly aggressive.I have an adult male which seems to attack females. At first I thought that he didnt get along with the first female so I removed her and replaced her with another female but he seems to be having a go at the second female.
He is considerbly larger as males are in this species.Do you who keep this species separate the sexes?

Hello Colin

I've had the same experience with the males of Phelsuma borbonica ssp. They can be real killers like what is said about serraticauda, especially the older bigger males. The best way I think of dealing with this is take the male from the enclosure and seperate it for quite some time so the female can recover, and provide lots of hiding places where only the female can get in when you put the male back in.
Some breeders say if you keep them in a smaller enclosure with multiple females so that the agression is divided works better, but I can't verify this and think this is a bit risky.

see you in Hamm

Best regards Sander

Hi,

This is also my experience.
I also tryed to keep them in a group of 1.4 . The females did it great but the male didn't like all the females. Now i'm keeping them as 1.1 in a big tank. They are doing great like that.

Regard,
Markus
