I am sooo chuffed, just been giving sticky mealworms and he's been happily eating away in front of me. So it seems feeding him in the evening puts my mind at rest that he is eating ok.:yahoo:

Aaaahhhhh! The one "disorder/disease" that everyone on earth should catch. :yahoo::yahoo:The Gecko Bug!!!:yahoo::yahoo:

But I got sick of mealies and crickets, so I upgraded to roaches. Before you say gross, just think of this. The don't stink, don't make noise, don't die as slowly as crickets, and give the geckos some sport chasing them around. Five times as fun watching them chase a roach around the cage than eating mealies.

I agree about their faces too, they look so pleased when they're eating :blushing: very cute! I did a video of Tango eating a little while ago... I already posted it but here it is again! :yahoo:

Leos are always smiling, but they go overboard after eating. That's what got my attention in the first place, after that I was hooked.

Big smiles no matter what they're eating

I find that adult leos will eat mealworms, but only because there's nothing else. Young leos eat them readily, but once the geckos grow to adult size, mealies are a bit small. They tend to like bigger food items, though they do eat smaller ones too if they're delicious or active enough. Mealworms aren't all that active, so they are often ignored by larger geckos. Try superworms (those big ones in the pictures 3 - 5). None of the leos I've had in almost 15 years have been able to resist them.

Silkworms are avalable online in the US. Check out Mulberry Farms - Reptile Food - Silkworm Supply

yes we do have supers here in uk they are known as morio worms this is the latin name for Superworms ( Zophobas Morio ) they are readily available at most pet shops that stock mealworms,
these are better for most lizards than mealworms as their exoskeleton is softer than that of a mealworm, this makes it easier to digest.
hope this is information is useful.
