Hi,
I have been keeping two m. Grandis for about a month and a half now. Things have been going great until two days ago. One of the geckos is accting odd. He is only using three of his legs. He is tucking his left front leg underneth himself. almost as if he is grabing his belly. he isn't moving the one leg at all it just stays under him as if stuck to his belly. Also the night that this happened he bit off some of his tail. I am very confussed by this. He didn't eat for about a day but yesterday and today he ate like normal is just as active as before it is just he isn't using the one leg. Also, he is about 4 months old. i appreciate any incite on what could be wrong with my gecko.
thanks

It could be broken or it could be just hurt. However that is a perfect reason not to keep the geckos housed together at any age.

I hope that it is just ingured and not broken. I was keeping them together until now. They are now in seperate cages. However, when this happened they might not have been together. I had the other gecko in a deli cup with wet paper towel b/c it was having some trouble shedding. I know for a fact that the ingured gecko ate part of his own tail but i'm not certain if the ingury to its leg was selfinflicted or from his cage mate. I didn't notice the leg problem until i saw that part of the tail was gone and when i put the one gecko into the deli cup the ingured one's tail was intact. i'll try to get some pictures of the leg if i can.
once again thanks.

I am very relieved. The gecko started to shed yesterday and is using his leg like normal now. :yahoo: I still dont know what happened to him but he seems fine now.
