Hi everyone! Soon I might get a crested and had a few Q's. First is my house sometimes gets under 68 degrees farenheit so I was wondering how i could keep it in the 70's. Next is What should I do for humidity? The other is feeding. I know what to feed but how much or the cgd do I use? Also how often do I feed in a week? Next is a 12 by 12 by 18 inch exo terra ok for one gecko? What should I do for substrate? I know most of what I need jsut not all of it lol. I cant wait till then!:yahoo: Thank you guys for any help. I know I have posted something like this but I had more questions(I am such a newb when it comes to cresteds).

As long as it doesn't get too low you should be ok. In the winter they are used to a cool down. 66-68 is probably the lowest I would let it get. In the summer it should be around 70-75. Maybe turn the heat on in the house if possible?
Humidity- mist 1-2 times a day
Feeding- I just scoop some on to a lid or some kind of plastic of some sort. Just don't feed too much at a time. I feed every other day or every two days If i miss a feeding.
Cage size- that size is fine
substrate- paper towel

Good luck!

Thanks guys. The only thing about the temps is in the morning and at night latley they have been 67 or 66. But later in the day it gets to 69-71. I am not to worried about the temps but still. Well soon I will have one hopefully. Ok my setup is going to be papertowel substrate, an exo-terra 12-12-18inch tank, fake plants and vines, a hygrometer, a digital thermometer, cgd, and a small water bowl. Is there anything im missing? Should I just have a small heat pad like one for a 5 galon tank? I will mist once in the morning and once at night. What is the lowest temp for morning and night? Besides that is there anything I need help with? Thanks again for all the help. I am so excited!:yahoo:.

umm... well depending on your budget instead of getting a heat pad i would invest in either a small 50 W heat bulb or a heat cable, heat pads arent the best for crested geckos because they are almost always on their plants and not on the ground. And i don't think that you are going to need a water bowl but instead get a spray bottle that you can buy at like the dollar store, to keep the humidity high and so the gecko can drink off of the plant... besides that it all sounds good, and post pics once it gets going ;)

What i would do is get your cage, the vines and your setup completely the way you want it first....

Get the digital therm/humidity guage at walmart for 5 - 6 bucks. Test this a few days. Check it and write it down. Then once you see what you need to tweek, then tweek it.

You may not even need a heater.

My problem was I had my 12x12x12 exo terra up on my entertainment stand 4 feet off the floor and my cage was getting too hot! lol so i lowered my tank and all is fine... so just make sure its up higher than lower cause heat rises.

I have no need for heat. But in the event you need it, get the small UTH that you can find and put it on the side of the tank in the back not on the bottom.

65 - 75 in the nights is fine, as long as they can warm up in the day. 72 to 80 during the day, anything above 80 is getting too close for comfort and gonna stress them out.

humidity should be fine with the misting, you dont want it too damp, and you want it to dry out in between mistings to prevent mold.

i hope that helps

Thank you guys. Well I will try getting it up on something so the heat can rise. Lately it geets cold outside but my parents get it at like 70-72. If it is still cold I will get a small heat pad. If I ned one which would you recomend? Again thankyou so much. I will show pics in a couple months. Im not getting it till december or january.
