Well the other day I woke up and stumbled into my gecko room to turn the lights on and saw this in my phantasticus cage. Sorry for the poor picture quality, I didn't want to disturb them, and I was still half asleep. They were on a plant that must have fallen off the glass during the night.

I want to but I haven't really been able to find a good source for cb ones.

i've heard about that being a problem in the USA, because of most of the species being seen as pest species. have you tried collecting some snails and then breeding them. It's probably a lot of hassle, but might be worth persevering.

I've tried that before, but gave up. I can go out into my yard and collect probably 20-30 at a time after dark. How long do they normally take to breed?

I can't give you a time line for the snail breeding. But I had them show up in one of my tanks... explode really. I transfered a few on some leaf litter to other tanks. They took off pretty quickly there too. Definitely made a big difference for the females' necklines. Good luck!

What would you feed the snails? Can a females calcium sacks get too big? I read that they would eventually calcify the organs and the animal dies?

too much calcium can lead to hypercalcemia but I haven't heard of any cases of it, so it might well be that its difficult to get to that stage. but I might be wrong.
I would feed the snails vegetables, and provide cuttlefish bone for them too. If you manage to breed them successfully, I would separate the babies asap, and it should avoid exchange of parasites, but there may still be a possibility that parasites could be transferred.

I've heard cuttlefish bone is good for calcium also, but I don't know where to get that here either. I would imagine that if a female wasn't laying any eggs and was given calcium continually it would happen. I actually think this may have happened with one of my female sikorae. She was LTC and had good sized calcium sacks and she just all of a sudden died, no apparent symptoms or sluggishness or anything.

uroplatus seem to be animals that can die without any warning, so it may be difficult to pinpoint exactly what killed her. Cuttlefish bone can be bought from most pet shops, as its used for some of the more common pets like budgies etc.
