This is a new terrarium for my crested geckos. I finished it few days ago, and it’s in business now:biggrin: It needs a little bit more of plants, but for now it looks like this:

Wow, very nice! I like how you have that set up. It looks like it should work out very well for you and your animals. :)

Thanks for your comments! Terrarium has only two crested geckos in it for now, but I’m planning to increase that number. While sometimes I was felling pretty tired working with a silicon and moss, I really enjoy making terrariums for my reptiles. Now, I’m working on new terrarium for my leopard geckos. I’m still at the beginning, and the only things that are done for now are two red-lava caves.

LOVE IT! Totally wish I'd have had a front-opening Viv to work with when I made mine, I had just a normal aquarium. Oh well, take what you get. Looks really great!

It looks really great! I know what you mean about setting up tanks for your reptiles. I really like doing that too.

How did you make your lava caves for your leopard geckos?

Caves are made from foam (the same I used for the terrarium background), covered with cement and paint, and protect with slender (different amount of slender at the end gives different shine of the cave). I put a foam over a can, which I remove leather so that caves can have dent.

Hey Poskok, Can you tell me what, exactly, you are using to make the caves and backgrounds? I used to take old glass front store displays and turn them into terrariums... I would make fancy rock walls and caves and plant boxes... I used to use this really great material called concrete. Then, when you had to move the cage, you would simply invite everyone you knew over to help take turns moving it a little at a time, since it weighed half a ton... Are you working with foam? Or what? Thanks!

Hey! A good setup for your crested!!

A question... Do you use some UV ligth... 2.0 or 5.0??
how do you use to clean this big space??

Thanks.!

I didn’t use UV light at first but I decide to use it now. I use 5.0 but only few hours per day. I do spot cleaning and once on week disinfection with hot steam…
Caves are made from some sort of foam that is used for filling gaps in the wall. It’s very light material. I cover it with a thin coat of cement and paint and then lacquer it all. At the end it comes up very robust, light and water resistant.

Well done! 5.0 it´s perfect for ciliatus... We must to reproduce the same conditions that natural habitads and UV is one of the elements... Now a days 90% of veterinarians specializing in exotic advise 5.0.

Regards!!
