GiGi's new terrarium I made it. =]

Here's all the many pictures. Lol. When I first put GiGi in, she walked across the sand and climbed on a rock. She's never had sand before. She sat there for nearly an hour until I picked her up and put her on the slate. Lol. She'll need to get used to the texture of it.

About the set up:
Where each rock is, is a green square for artificial plants to be stuck in. So the plants are interchangeable/removable. When I get a little more money in two weeks I'll go looking for fake desert plants.
There's also a built in food bowl. It can also hold water, I sealed the grout with that sealant for it Lol. So it's all smooth and glazed.
The actually structure is covered LIGHTLY in sand, some places there's none, for a color variant. Then I sprinkled a little sand on top for a pattern across it. Like the wind blew sand over rock. The only real area where there's pure sand is the corners and the wall.
And and I had GiGi walk across it when it had sand over it while it was partially wet-but no tacky. So there's GiGi Prints all over it. Lol. Say it with me! "AWWW" haha.
There's lots of cliffs on it. Since GiGi likes to climb I figured give her some interesting terrain.

Also, there's a missing hide, it's not actually missing. It's a strawberry... so it doesn't exactly blend in! Lol. But it's in there now. And oddly, it's her "lets go bye-bye hide", so she loves to be in it. When we walk by, she runs to it. Thinking she's going to the vet. That's the only hide we use to carry her to the vet. Lol.

it looks great but i wouldnt risk impaction with sand.
thats your decison tho.

Looks like it's mostly tile-grout+sand to me. Anyways.

Turned out well - I'm glad you decided to make a topic, too! Your GiGi is looking awesome as well - love the footprint idea.

If you READ what I put, the sand is lightly sprinkled is some locations, the grout is holding it down. The ONLY loose sand is the sides to fill in the gaps.

Plus she's 9 months old, and DOESN'T eat crickets. What are the odds of her eating the sand? She has a calcium dish on the warm side on the slate anyways.

Here's what I thought of when I read your reply:
I wouldn't risk repti-carpet, they can cause their nails to get caught and fall out.
I wouldn't risk coco-fiber, it makes the humidity levels rise too high which may cause a respiratory infection.
I wouldn't risk bark, it can scratch their underbellies.
Shall I go on?
Point: It's a controversial topic, always pros/cons to EVERYTHING, and don't reply unless you've seen my response to it. (i.e. it's clearly in my post.)

She loves it now. =D She normally lays in her hide completely, and hides. Because she didn't like to be in her terrarium. Now she lays out in the open, flat on her belly. When you walk by, she doesn't even run to the glass to try to get out! I made my GiGi relaxed. Lol.

This is her out of place strawberry. Lol. As soon as I put it in, she ran behind it to nap. =]

Ignore the temp on the thermometer. I had just turned back on the lamp after it was off all night.

She clearly loves her new tank <3
