Tremper Eclipse is a simple recessive trait.
A RAPTOR het would have to have 1 allele for Patternless, Eclipse, and Tremper Albino. An APTOR can be het for Eclipse and thus be het for RAPTOR.

Eclipse acts recessive but isn't a true recessive. Matt can explain it far better than me, since he made them from scratch.

Het raptor is a commonly used description , but is incorrect geneticly speaking. It does indeed act in that manor, so nobody is being deceitful by selling an animal as "het raptor"

For something to be named het RAPTOR shouldn´t it be necessary to act in such a manner that by mating (for example) Tang het RAPTOR with Tang het RAPTOR you would have 25% RAPTOR?

Perhaps I'm not understanding your point.

Errr...my understanding was that the intention of this thread was to create a list of all the different morphs and their pics. Not ask a million and one questions about morphs. Oh well, so much for making a list to have stickied.

tremper het raptor X raptor make 50% raptor statisticly. Eclipse X het eclipse make 50% eclipse statisticly. You are treating "raptor" as a single trait, it's actually albino and eclipse to put it simple and leave out the stripe genes.

Sorry ethan, I like to help others..

What I'm saying is that i do not believe that writing het RAPTOR is really good because it is somewhat misleading, because as you say it is really het albino and het eclipse (in the simpler terms). But I don´t believe that it is important to discuss it any further.

Sorry Ethan, I'm not asking anything more in this one.

Maybe having "Discussion" at the beginning of the thread title makes for a misnomer. Perhaps the new list should simply be entitled "A List of..." ya know, so people don't ask questions and all...idk, just a thought.
