Day 5 not eating

Currently my Leo Shawn ( my name is not shawn ) has been going off eating. The temp has been cool so I bought a 100 watt bulb to warm them up. 86 on the ground with a 95 basking spot and still not eating. I just wanted to make sure what was going on and if he/she would be alright. Any answers would be greatly appreciated.

I LOVE my Leo Shawn. He/she is the favorite one i have. He/she is scaring me to death. He's/she's looking at the meal worm but then just turning it's head away and closing it's eyes. Luckily he/she has a fat tail so I think she ( let's just call it a she now cause I'm pretty sure it is one ) can survive this. But I'm very worried about her.

Thankyou.

Have you recently switched cages or anything like that? Try changing up the food too, my gecko won't eat mealworms now for some reason(I think thats all they fed them at petco).

My non-eater

Could it be stress?

Tony went from being a healthy eater to not really caring whether he ate or not (barely going after worms and missing a lot when he did). I redid all his heating and what not, like you did - making sure he was comfortable. He still wouldn't really eat and he wasn't pooping.

He was fine the first couple weeks he was in the classroom and nothing has really changed since then, but I still thought maybe the kids were stressing him out. I covered his tank with a dark colored sheet and he was suddenly very hungry and pooping as usual. He walks around and spends time out of his hides if the sheet is covering his tank, but if the sheet comes off, he freezes and backs into the closest hide. He also won't eat while they watch anymore, which they both used to.

I think Lola actually enjoys putting on the show of attacking worms and making them gasp and quietly cheer for her...... :) Tony? Not so much. :) He's shy.....

Just one thought.... :)

Did you tried crickets and roaches?
That can be a normal thing, but if he continues without hungry, can be parasites. It's normal in leos because they eat live food.

OR it's the season. A lot of geckos aren't eating right now. If Shawn's not losing rapid weight then I wouldn't worry. Just keep offering.

Yes! She ate 9 meal worms tonight and i am really excited. I raised the temperature to 87 on the ground and that seemed to do the trick. Bad news also. The 100 watt I bought burned out and it won't work. Luckily the temp outside is about 90 here so the 75 watt worked well. Thank you everyone for their answers.

I think that you should take your gecko to the vet. My female leo has parasites and the parasites start like your. My leo stayed about 5 days without eating after a shedding and now she don't eat. Tomorrow I go to the vet.

It doesnt need a vet, its not parasites - he's not eating because the ground temperature is so low, It should be 88 at the very least!

If he has this temperatures why didn't he ate? I think that is parasites. Try to take the gecko to a vet.

Yes but im guessing that would be the ambient temperature? The post from him above says that hes just raised the ground temperature to 87, no wonder he wasn't eating, Leo's need the belly heat to digest food properly.

I know that, but 5 days without eating is a little and leos can carry parasites and all the leos should be desparasitated 2 times on a year.

Im not disagreeing with you, your right there is a chance it could have parasites, but to me its just the temps, it started eating again as soon as the ground heat was raised

If you had a basking spot with 95 ºF, why didn't he ate?
I use ceramic heater and that only heat the air. My leos eat all the days.
