Eublepharis angramainyu name history

Hi guys. I thought this was really interesting. I was looking up Persian Mythology for a class and found this article on a force called Angra Mainyu which is the source of darkness, destruction, sterillity, and death. Not a very nice name for a gecko. :? Eublepharis angramainyu should be renamed E. spentamainyu. much nicer name. JK.

Heres the article:

The characters of Persian mythology almost always fall into one of two camps. They are either good, or they are evil. The resultant discord mirrors the ancient conflict, which in Persian mythology is based on the Zoroastrian concept of the dual emanation of Ahura Mazda (Avestan, or Ormuzd in later Persian). Spenta Mainyu is the source of constructive energy, while Angra Mainyu is the source of darkness, destruction, sterility, and death.

Umm ..So these are a sub-species of the Leopard Gecko kind of like the Taylori is to the AFT. Poor little gecko's have to live in a war infested desert..

No. They are not a sub-species they are a full species and so are H. taylori. Eublepharis macularius and E. angramainyu are just in the same genus. And they do not live in a war infested desert. Its is actually arid rocky out crops. Which is their natural habitat.
