Another tale of a bleeding heart.

Well, my tale starts like many others. "I went to the pet store to get some supplies..."

And well, I saw this little one in the tank with some others:

She looks healthy enough and I was intrigued by her bright oranges and greenish markings so I asked to look at her. The pet store associate took her out and handed her to me and she's missing almost all the toes on her hind feet. Well.. next thing you know, I'm paying 9 dollars (Manager gave me a discount and evidently didn't realize they were already 11 dollars off (it wasn't advertised but it rang up that way!) ) and walking out the door with the little one.

I'm such a pushover

She's currently 21 grams. I think I'm going to name her Freya. Oh, and I did get that piece of shed off her toe.

what a beautiful babe! My Athena was a pet store rescue (she only has 4 toenails left(!) and a regenerated tail). Freya is a lovely name too. :)

Nice gecko! If the spots on the back disapear you have a lovely SHTCT.

Doesn't look like a carrot tail to me, but she may have come from a CT project. I think she's lovely. I like spots! Hopefully the pet store didn't have her on sand. A store here has a group of gorgeous hypos (including a sweet SHTCTB male), but they are all on sand. :( The pet store (I won't say which, but it rhymes with "Metco" :D) actually has a sign ON the leo cage that recommends keeping them on sand! I told them they should consider removing the male soon, since they all seem to be about 20-30 grams.
Sorry I went off topic, but Freya's super pretty and post pics as she grows! I'd love to see what happens to her pattern.

I don't think it will be a Carrot tail. rglove, you saw mine and it has just less orange. I agree, probably came from Carrot tail project.

Thanks all for the nice comments!

I don't think she'll lose the spots on her back but we shall see. As far as the carrot tail goes, when my Solis was a baby she had a little more than that and now she's got quite a bit. So, who knows. Time will tell - and either way it doesn't matter to me.

She was housed on sand, unfortunately, but this isn't my first one who was. She did poop last night and it did have some sand in it but since she is having bowel movements I am not concerned.
