Since it will most likely be a boy (the one I'm getting at the show in a month) it will be named Nero.

Why Nero?? Any Trekkie's out there?!?!

I JUST SAW STAR TREK! FOR FREEEEEEE.

It was a preview thing here in San Diego. So I got to see it two days in advanced. And the guy who plays the first captain, he was there. Lol. Adhir something.
I'm not into Star Trek, but I will say thing, GO SEE IT!! It was FRIGGIN AWESOME!

And I'm Probably going to pull some other names from the Credits for my other future geckos. Quite a colorful cast.

By my question is, and REASON for this thread, how do YOU come up with names for your geckos? As in, what inspires them?

GiGi was named after my great aunt Giovanna. Lol.

Sprocket (my SHTCTB) was first named Apollo after the sun god (cuz of her dazzling tangerine color), and because Apollo is the patron god of musicians (my husband is in a band). But now that she's a she, I named her Sprocket because I think it's cute. :D Flower/Keenan (my Mack Snow) for the skunk in Bambi/after Maynard James Keenan of Tool- When I can tell if it's a boy or girl we'll decide. Athena (Aberrant/Broken reverse stripe) was named after the goddess of wisdom, war and patron god of Athens (Zeus's daughter), because Sprocket turned out being a girl and we couldn't name her Apollo, and we wanted a Roman or Greek Gecko :). Then Neko, our bright orange patty stripe, was named after the singer Neko Case because I love her music and she too, is a red head. Phew....;)
In the above stated order: (1) Sprocket, (2) Apollo, (3) Flower, (4) Flower (Bambi), (5) Maynard James Keenan, (6) Athena, (7) Athena (Zeus's kiddo), (8 ) Neko, (9) Neko Case

I have to come up w/names for my Lygodactylus williamsi. I've had them longer than my leos but I haven't a clue. As for my other pets: Frodo (Pug), Thackery (Pug/Corgi mix), Sargent Pepper (dwarf rabbit), and Dozer (Sulcata). :D OH and the horse we used to have, Kemah. And two of our 3 lygos. :)

I have 2 leos. Leeroyetta and Mack. Leeroyetta got her name because when I first brought her home my fiance insisted that it was a boy and he names all his male animals Leeroy so that was her name. (We even have a cat named Leeroy.) However when she got older and she turned out to be a female he wouldn't let me change her name so we started calling her Leeroyetta.

Then Mack got his name because everytime our Border Collie, Roxy, would come in the rept room she would go to his tank and stare at him and he would come out of his tank with his feet turned inward just like a bulldog, so we started calling him Mack!

I like weird names. Giovanna was just because I was thinking of G names (since she was Gustavo, but evidently, it's a female.) and someone from here said Giovanna. I was thinking Gertrude. Calling her Gerty. Haha. But then Giovanna sounded better, plus my great aunt's name is Giovanna.

I had a beta fish growing up named Zeprentia. Haha. I was 8. I named it. Made it up too.

I'm not a leo owner, but love this thread! My husband insists on calling our pets as they are, ie.. the turtles or the old crested or the red one. I hate it and we are both Grateful Dead fans, so that is where I get my names from. Our two red ear slider babies are Miracle and Mighty Quinn. Then our older Crested pair are Rueben and Therese. We have three newly aquired babies and I'm still thinking of names for them. One is a red and I think I'm going to call it Ramblin Rose-If it turns out to be a boy it will be Rambler and a girl Rose.

I like to name my pets after characters out of my favorite childhood movies. My bloodhound is named Bruno after the dog from Cinderella, and my white lined gecko is named Kaiya after the wife of the lead elwin in the movie Willow (i also had a hampster named willow :) )
