Hi everyone. Over the past few days i have noticed something unusual in my thick-tailed gecko enclosure. I have two thick-tailed geckos just to let you know.

A few days ago i found a small patch or a little ditch at the back of the enclosure. I placed sand on top of it, to cover it up. The next day it was back to the same as yesterday. Yet again i covered it up, but still the ditch appeared again and again.

Whats going on with my thick-tails? They aren't adults yet and none of them seem like they have any problems. Do they like to ditches or something, are they trying to make a burrow?

Please help!

Milli are not big burrow diggers like some gecko (eg .Knob-Tails) but will dig to "fix" existing burrows. I the wild they will often use burrows left be other animals.
As for the digging in the corners or back of the enclosure I think it is to see if they can find a way around the walls of the enclosure.
The female will also dig to lay her eggs is some cases but as you have said they are not adults and it is the wrong time of year for this to happen in Australia at the moment.
