Changing To Tile - Heat Question

Hey guys!

So im using repti carpet at the moment and have done so since I got my leo about 3months ago. It looks all nice and pretty after I give the viv a full clean, well until dinner time, the calcium is just driving me mad (im kinda OCD that way ) so im thinking of switching to tile. Will the UTH be able to heat the tile on its own?

Yes I agree with everyone I have tile in my tanks and heats it up real nice.

just make sure you put a layer of play sand under it to help with heat transfer. the slate is uneven and will have air pockets under it. I would also press play sand into the cracks between the tiles to help with the heat gradient.

The sand isnt for keeping the leo from burns. its for helping to conduct heat to the tiles better. to keep from burning the leo, you should have a thermostat. at least thats how I have both of mine set up.
