If I have approx a 10 gal terrarium, do I only
need a 1-5 gallon uth to heat half of the ank? Or do I need the 10-20. Also my tank is a strong plastic terrarium, is it ok to use a uth if I use the plastic spacers? The light I'm using for heat now
keeps te right temp since it's summer and isn't melting or affecting the thick plastic at all, will a uth? Thanks all

it may turn the plastic britle after a few years but as far as fire or melting it won't
that plastic has a melt point of about 380 degrees. So as long as you dont have a crazy heater you should be good.

For an approx 10 gal tank do I need the 5 or 10 gallon uth? Since I only need to heat up half the tank?

Either will do, but you will need a thermostat either way. I have found that a standard glass 10 gallon with ceramic tile, when heated with a 1-5 gallon UTH will maintain itself at about 92 without a thermostat. For 1 gecko in a 10 gallon I don't worry too much about what percentage of the floor gets heated. If the gecko wants to be really warm, it will lie over the hottest part.
