First gecko Chui (Pics!)

I recently bought my first gecko Chui!
He's about a month and a half, and has lavender stripes. He's a carrot tail, and when I was shopping for the remaining supplies (extra house, calcium, lighting, moss), I saw him. So, even though I'll be away for 18 days, my brother will be caring for mine and his, as he was just too cute to leave behind. He is brilliant yellow, with lavender bands that have spots, and orange legs with white feet. And he has a white line tracing his head with a bunch of tiny spots. Chui is the swahili word for leopard, and is pronounced Chewy.

Here are pics I grabbed last night with infa-red lighting on.

Great colours, great name

Ah I see. Wow...nice colours. I like the mottled stripe pattern against the yellow. And great name too :D I always try to give my lizards unique names like that.

Thanks. It sucks I have to leave him for 18 days, but at least I won't be tempted to hold him. How old do you think he is? I was told about one and a half months, but my brother's was smaller, and the store said the same about his. Can you believe these beautiful markings are from a petsmart gecko? He's sleeping right now, what's a good feeding time?

you can feed them after dark or right before sun rise or if it changes its way to a diurnal you can feed it in broad day light

Thanks guys! And by the way, how old do you think he is? I really think he's older than a month and a half!

Well, I got him yesterday, so I didn't touch him. So other than what the store said (so reliable, right?) no, I'm not sure. I tried looking after taking his picture standing up, but he jumped down. I'll get a better look when I come back. I leave tomorrow, and I'll be away until the 26th. My brother will care for him. He also hasn't been out much to see the size. I'd say between 5 and 6 inches?

Nice lil' hypo tangerine you have there! I agree w/Allee on age, prob around 2 months old. And it looks like it may be a girl, but likely is too young to tell.

Ok, so I took him out today, as I'm back, and it's been 2 1/2 weeks. He actually comes out a lot during the day to just hang out. He's about 6 1/2 inches long, and I still can't prove the sex, as he is VERY skittish. I hold him on my bed, and keep my hands low so he doesn't get hurt, and carry him over in a cup. I REALLY don't want to hurt him!!!! So yeah. And thanks for the comments! I'm loving the amount of orange on the tail, about 4-5 bands, and the green "eye shadow".
