Hello all of you!
My name is Edwin and I'm from The Netherlands.
I have 5 leopardgecko's (Jungle, Aptor, SH(ct)) and a pair of Lygodactylus kimhowelli. I hope to breed the next season with my Lygodactylus.

I think I'm gonna find lots of information here ;)

Greetings,
Edwin

Welcome to GU, Edwin ~

I note that you have a pair of Lygodactylus kimhowelli. Those are fast little geckos! I have two Lk males in separate enclosures who are always trying to escape when I open the doors of their cages. With their acrobatics, they are only a cartwheel away from freedom . And that happened once. The Lk was missing for more than a week, but was finally recaptured and ultimately seemed none the worse for his absence.

@ shico:
Nice website and verry nice "Nachzucht" you have!

@ Elizabeth:
I bet you were happy to find him back! Lucky for me, my Lk didn't try to escape... I hope they won't try!
But Lk is stunning!

Tales of Capturing Missing Geckos

Edwin ~

Of course you are correct that I was very happy to find that Lk escapee. I think the story is remarkable. (Sometimes I note such absences on my calendar, and I did.) That gecko was missing for 18 days in September 2007! :yikes: One morning I found him in my spare bedroom hanging out near Oedura castelnaui tanks maybe for some extra warmth. I moved in very slowly for the capture with delicup, cloth, and net. He was weakened from his absence and put up no fuss. :yahoo:

The moral of this story is to keep the home fires burning and "think" like a gecko!!!

Once I found one of my Lepidodactylus lugubris on the outside of my 3rd story clearstory window. I was able to access the roof via a ladder through the access hole...walk over to my window...and calmly catch that critter. Not sure why she went to MY window other than at the time I was keeping some cage lights on 24/7!
