Hi I just have had a heck of a time hatching these little guys. I have been breeding for a very long time with leos, and have had great success. Also have had good success with beardies, and also have had really good succes with my rough knobbies as I just hatched out a few yesterday. So I have quite a bit of experiance with incubating eggs. Well heres my problem, I have been setting my eggs up in the container the exact same as my rough knobbies as thats what i gathered from steve sykes article in reptiles mag. Any way I been incubating them at 82 degrees, in damp vermiculite dampened to the exact same dampness as I do my Wheelari so slightly damp with all water squeezed out, and the eggs look very healthy. I candle them and they grow like they should. Well so far 4 out of my 6 eggs so far have gone to 45 to 48 days looking very good, then all of the sudden they just burst and a little hole forms in the shell and yolk comes out of it, its weird I was a little confused with the first two as I left them in the incubator after they burst thinking maybe they would hatch and they went another 5days before molding. So I took em out and opened em up and to my suprise both had live levis babies in them that were dang near fully developed and still alive. the levis in these eggs ended up dying a bit after being pulled from the eggs because they were a little under developed. Well two more have done the xact same thing last night and I decided to candle and see if the eggs had any movement and well they do, so what do I do, this is freaking crazy I have never had this happen to me in all the years I have bred leos, Maybe I'm just new to the levis and am not doing something right. I have no idea what else it could be. well If any one can help me figure this out I would greatly appriciate it this is very devastating to have to watch. even if some of you levis breeders could give me details on how you all set your eggs and everything. I can try that and see if it helps. More than likely they have different incubation needs than the other species I work with like the wheelari. The weird thing if they dont is they are set exactly the same way and there is actually wheelari eggs in the same incubator that should hatch any day and the ones that hatched came out of that incubator so the temps should be fine. Well any help is very greatly appriciated thanks so much,
Adam
