But whats bad in Walnut shell ? Is it toxic for the geckos ? Too hard to digest ?


It's not toxic. It's just that walnut shells are VERY hard and the pieces are fairly large. It's not like it's ground into a dust. So, if it were to be ingested, a leo would not be able to digest it. Leos live with sand in nature. I've never heard of a leo living in a walnut grove.

Thanks , I never saw what it looks like so i didnt knew why.
Sand is really fine so even if he ingest some it can pass trough , I understand a gecko eating something bigger will be more likely to have Impaction.

Walnut shells are not digestible however my leo never licks it. Sand on the other hand my leo was always curious about it. And I used the play sand not calcium. I could be wrong maybe it was only my leo but it seems like my leo knows simply not to eat the walnut shells.
