egg deformation before hatching?

Hey there!

Could it be, that eggs are deforming, getting dents, before the babies are hatching??

I don't know when they were laid, but yesterday i opened one of the deformed eggs and inside was a nearly full developed baby

So is this normal or already a sign for dead eggs?

Thanks for your help!

Right before hatching my eggs always look very full, almost like a water balloon about to explode:D. So far I havent had any eggs with dents, so I'm not sure why they developed those. It could possibly be that it wasnt humid enough, perhaps if you leave them a while longer and make sure there is enough humidity they would hatch out on their own. Did the little guy survive?

I thought I read somewhere or saw in a video that the egg can "dent" just before they hatch. This has happened sometimes with our hatchlings, but we did have one that looked a little off (despite having seemed to develop normally.) The off egg leaked something and, like yourself we found a little one that was just a bit smaller then the hatchlings. We assumed it couldn't push it's way out of the egg for some reason.

hey, thanks!

yeah, the other one is still inside, but i have no hopes...

the one i opened, he didn't have any movements or signs of living when i got it out, so i think it was already dead.

so far i think it was not humid enough.... but yeah... it's my first fertile eggs i had, but now i'm just little bit sad, for they were near hatching and than this...

but hopefully the next ones get out and then i have my first babies :)
